Using Wireshark to capture, inspect, and analyze network packets in my cybersecurity home lab — observing protocol behavior, troubleshooting connectivity, and studying how data moves across a network.
Using Wireshark, I analyzed network traffic generated by devices in my lab environment. This allowed me to observe packet flows, inspect protocol behavior, and understand how data moves across a network. The project provided hands-on experience with packet analysis and network troubleshooting techniques commonly used by cybersecurity and network professionals.
This project helped me understand how network protocols communicate and how analysts use packet captures to investigate connectivity problems and suspicious network activity. It strengthened my understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, and web traffic while providing practical experience with one of the most widely used network analysis tools in cybersecurity.
